But hey, it was a good practice day. (Golf.)

In the past few months, I have used my body more than in the previous several decades combined. Sometimes I wonder how much healthier I would’ve been, had I really seriously honestly picked a sport and gotten good at it early in life.

But such musings are futile. And thus I shall focus on the now and the future.

So. Again, it was a good practice day. I’m happy about that.

New favicon for The Sitting Log, because using the same image for both “The Sitting Log” (this blog here) and “State of the Desk” (my newsletter) was confusing. I kept clicking on the wrong tab of my browser. 😅 Perhaps this change will save other people's time too.

It seems that active marketing always reaches those who actively seek such marketing before it reaches any actually viable targets.

Meaning, it reaches the freebie seekers, the serial returners, the system abusers, and the “the world owes me free entertainment” folks first, before reaching the rest of the population.

In this theory, for active marketing to be worthwhile, it must last long enough, with great intensity, in order to reach that “rest of the population.” Otherwise, all that happens is that one alerts the least desirable non-targets of one's existence.

So I guess because I don’t have enough energy to actively market long-term with great intensity, I’m just gonna do passive “marketing” where I sit and make shit up and make the stories available. And maybe, hopefully, the freebie seekers, the serial returners, the system abusers, and “the world owes me free entertainment” crowd won’t notice that I am here.

At this point, avoiding them is more important to me than being found by the actual targets.

Apparently, on Tiktok, a video that teaches people how to read and return went viral? Lol... I mean, it went viral a while ago, but apparently, the effects are still noticeable.
